About this event

InterEngineering has joined up with the Law Society and Thrive Law to deliver a session on LGBTQ+ rights in the workplace. Employment lawyers Imogen Hamblin and Tom Stenner-Evans will be delivering a lecture outlining your rights under the Equality Act 2010. This includes a full-scale evaluation of discrimination laws and how to make your workplace a more inclusive place to work. We will also be focussing on providing practical resources and tips to expand D and I initiatives and teaching you how to be better advocates and allies within your own organisations.

Imogen Hamblin (she/her)

Imogen Hamblin identifies as a cis-gendered lesbian woman. She is an employment lawyer at Thrive Law and specialises in discrimination claims.

Imogen has recently joined the LGBT+ Lawyers Division Committee of the Law Society, building on her previous work to raise diversity and inclusion across the profession.

Tom Stenner-Evans (he/him)

Tom is an experienced employment lawyer and a partner at Thrive Law, a boutique employment law firm recognised for its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Before joining Thrive, Tom spent 14 years at Michelmores LLP, a Stonewall partner firm, where he was a partner in the employment team and an active member of the firm’s D&I Committee.

Tom has advised employers across the public, private and third sectors on matters of bullying, discrimination and harassment and has provided bespoke in-house training to a number of other professional firms.

Tom has also supported large public sector bodies with the implementation of workplace changes designed to create a more positive working experience for members of the LGBT+ community.

Tom is passionate about equality at work, and particularly about educating employers on the ever-developing gender landscape.
