The Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) has today announced the shortlisted nominees for its 2026 Engineering Design Awards, celebrating outstanding achievement across engineering and product design.
The winners will be revealed at the IED Engineering Design Awards dinner on Wednesday 7 October 2026 at the Coventry Building Society Arena, held in collaboration with the Engineering Design Show (EDS). Guests will hear a keynote address from Dr Lucy Rogers MBE FREng FIMechE HonFIED, before the 2026 award winners are announced on the night.
The 2026 shortlist
Alex Moulton Award – recognising innovative product development:

Colin Ledsome Award – presented to an individual, group or organisation who shares an enthusiasm for, and promotes the joy of, engineering and design:

Geoff Kirk Young Members Award – recognising up-and-coming young members of the Institution of Engineering Designers, to highlight their career to date and to promote the future of design to the wider membership:

Hills Millennium Award — recognising an international designer who has made a major contribution to engineering and/or product design:
