Is my course accredited?

The Institution supports educational bodies (Universities and Colleges) which deliver courses for the training of professional designers by accrediting the courses that these bodies offer.

The course accreditation procedure involves a thorough assessment of the course documents, assessment procedures and teaching facilities by a panel of knowledge experts. The panel also meets with both lecturers and current students during the course of the assessment.

Accredited courses are fully supported by the Institution, and IED Student membership is free to full-time students for the duration of their studies. Successful students can upgrade to Member upon graduation.

Engineering Council - Mutual Recognition

Please be aware that for Engineering Council (EngC) registration, any course that is accredited by any other Professional Engineering Institution is also accepted by the IED and vice versa.
