I am currently working on a Management programme called a KTP (Knowledge Transfer Programme) in conjunction with Manchester Metropolitan University and a commercial company based in the North East of England. Through this program I've become more proactive as I have been introduced to personal development plans and I had the opportunity to take the lead on several major projects.

My current position involves running a team that designs and develops innovative protective wear for the armed forces. This has included the development of new materials and the creation of a technical spec in order for the products to be awarded a CE mark.

I studied Product Design in D.I.T. Dublin and I graduated with Honours. During the Product Design course I learned how to take a product from concept to market, by using the relevant steps, i.e. marketing research, concept development, sketch modelling, manufacturing techniques, design processes, target market analysis and costing.

I am a creative person who works hard and pays attention to detail. I'm flexible, quick to pick up new skills and eager to learn from others. I also have lots of ideas and enthusiasm. I'm keen to work for a company that will help develop my skills, increase my knowledge in the different disciplines of engineering/design and provide avenues for personal development.
I am looking for a challenge that will expose me to new experiences and I am also willing to relocate if required.

I am currently working for Axon Automotive, developing their carbon fibre car chassis, this placement ends in August.

I am looking to continue working in a design-engineering domain, structural engineering or pure design jobs would fit as well.

I come from an architectural background.  I live in Northamptonshire but am prepared to relocate.

I have been experimenting with new technologies for laminated composites, improving the mechanical behaviour of different structural elements.  I have also been involved in the styling of the Axon car, which I have enjoyed very much.

Vijay KUMAR

I have been accountable for successfully delivering a number of innovative products/projects within the budget and time frame. Some of these projects were in multinational employment (New Product Design/Development), and others were personal ventures. In this way I have worked as an interim personnel in a galaxy of assignments, for office machines, food, automotive, pharmaceutical, healthcare, life-sciences, medical, semiconductor, superconductors, molecular bioscience, environmental, renewable energy, fast particulate spectrometers, scientific gas analysers, textiles and have contributed to innovative special purpose machines and processes.

In my product/project design practices I use Solidworks, Solid Edge, Inventor and Autocad and am prepared to learn any favourite alternative software. I am used to managing and delivering products/projects by integrating with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors, out-sourcing etc.

I offer total commitment with positive attitude, technical proficiency, professional integrity, ability to learn quickly and determination to succeed and feel that I can be an invaluable employee of any forward looking organisation.

Recently I was working as an Engineering Consultant for two local companies, for one resolving the technical shortfalls and for the other spearheading well engineered product. Now both of these assignments has ended on 31 January 2009 and am actively seeking a fulltime employment; so that I could continue to utilise my full potential and meet the challenges of the cutting-edge technologies.
