Ken Symonds - Project Design Engineer
Ken Symonds has 39 years experience within the high volume plastics manufacturing industry, 30 of which have been focused on new product design and development, backed up by sound technical knowledge. His responsibilities cover the introduction of new products, from conception to commercialisation, project managing the detailed stages of development, prior to the hand over to the production unit.
From the initial feasibility study with the customer, the subsequent generation of concept sketches, 2D and 3D designs, the sourcing of models, all of which require significant attention to detail. Thereafter, the preparation of product costs, mould tooling quotations and critical paths acceptable to both the business and the customer all form part of the procurement process. In addition, his mould tool design background and proven ability to procure a new project to an exacting time scale, he believes that his experience would fully compliment the skills and expertise of companies.
A number of blue chip companies use products for which he has been personally responsible, these include Tesco, Boots, Perkins, Jewsons and BOC and cover both injection and rotational moulding applications. More recently, product designs have also focused on the blow moulding process.
You will see from his accompanying CV that he is fully conversant with Windows Office and Microsoft Project, having a sound knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and SolidEdge 3D solid modelling program. Confident in preparing and delivering presentations at all levels, he is an enthusiastic and dedicated individual driven by the passion of his career. Comfortable working as part of a team environment, or taking the lead where appropriate, challenging ideas and stimulating discussion in order to ensure that the right product is delivered to market.
