Amongst this year’s winning companies from the engineering sector are a manufacturer of mobile screening, crushing and shredding equipment (Extec Screens & Crushers Ltd); two divisions of JCB; a maker of underground mining machinery (Joy Mining Machinery Ltd); a provider of wheels for eathmoving equipment and mobile cranes (Titan Steel Wheels Ltd); a deepwater and off-shore engineering company (John Wood Group PLC); a supplier of computer controlled lathes and machining centres (Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd); the developers of portable equipment for determining the exact dimension and shape of pipe ends (Optical Metrology Services Ltd); and the designers of an infra-red, rotating drum dryer for processing plastic materials (UPM Machinery Sales Ltd).
