Work Placements

Work placements part-way through a degree course are an important part of the career development of graduate engineers.

The IED offers a service in support of the placement programmes of the Universities offering placements arising from contacts with IED members and acting as a clearing house whereby Universities can fill places offered to them which they are not able to offer to their own students.

Ash Chumber

Ash Chumber is a student member currently studying an MSc at Loughbrough University he is looking for an industrial placement for Spring /Summer.

I am a enthusiastic, sociable, creative, lateral thinking individual with a visceral effervescence for challenging innovation within design and engineering. I believe I am a articulate individual with great communicative and leadership ability, one who aspires to attain the best from myself and always has a positive demeanor. Although a mature graduate I have a depth of knowledge which has been impacted upon greatly with my return to academia, this has made me acutely aware of future focused trends within key industry relative to design and engineering. I have a BA (Hons) in Design and Technology from Middlesex University and have a current full clean driving license and first aid at work certificate.

I feel these new honed skills combined with previous industry experience would lend well to a position within design engineering, management and production. I would prefer to work in the East or West Midlands but will work in any major city in England, Wales and Scotland.
