Accredited Courses
The Institution supports educational bodies (Universities etc) running courses for the training of professional engineers by accrediting the courses that these bodies offer.
The course accreditation procedure involves a thorough assessment of the course documents, assessment procedures and teaching facilities by a panel of acknowledge experts. The panel will also conduct separate meets with both lecturers and current students during the course of the assessment.
Accredited courses are fully supported by the Institution, and IED Student membership is free to full-time students for the duration of their studies and their first year of Graduate membership. Successful students can up-grade to Graduate membership and, once they have obtained the necessary professional experience, they can progress to full membership of the Institution.
