Applying for Accreditation

The IED offers accreditation of academic programmes to the level of MIED. IED also offers accreditation to CEng, IEng and EngTech under licence from ECUK.

We have a licence to undertake these accreditations in our own right or jointly with other institutions.

In order for accreditation under ECUK licence to be successful a programme needs to be able to demonstrate that it meets the learning outcomes for each level of registration. The IED Specific Learning outcomes document including areas relating to design.

If you have a suite of programmes you can choose which you submit for membership and which you submit for ECUK accreditation at the appropriate level.
